The original business was established in 1989 by the Winde family of Knysna. they started to entrench the Knysna Eleco brand in various avenues of the local business market. In August 1999 a young and vibrant businessman, Andrew Aveley took over the reigns of the canvas fabrication and manufacturing division and transformed the quiet local canvas business into one of the leading Marine Canvas suppliers in Southern Africa !!The operation was moved from Belvedere Heights in early 2001 to the main Knysna industrial area. Larger premises in Sandpiper street were found to accommodate the increased fabrication and production demands. Here things went from great to phenomenal !!! Great new unique product ranges and services were born and made a reality !!
Finally the need for a purpose built factory had become glaringly obvious. So in March 2008 a final move was made to a new 400m2 factory in Jonker Street with panoramic views over Knysna and it’s growing industrial area. Here we now have settled and are producing only the highest quality fabric and canvas products for various niche markets throughout.
